Reciting the Mantra

"Om Ma Ni Ped Me Hung"

The six syllables mantra is the heart mantra of Chenrezig (Kuan Yun Pu Sa). This mantra is very precious and possess numerous unimaginable benefits. In many Mahayana sutras, descriptions on how Chenrezig benefits and liberates sentiment beings abound. In the history of Buddhism, there were many true and miraculous instances of how calamities and dangers were overcome. THE LOST SOULS WERE LIBERATED and good fortune and prosperity bestowed just by chanting the heart mantra of Chenrezig, the great compassion Dharani.

Chenrezig (Kuan Yun Pu Sa) is known as Avalokiteshvara in Sunskrits. Since the time Buddhism was first introduced into Tibet and China in 700 A.D., the practice of Avalokiteshvara has flourished and become well-known and widely explained in about 21 sutras and tantras of the Mahayana and Vajrayana teachings of the Lord Buddha Sakyamuni. Therefore, the Six Syllable Mantra of OM MA NI PED ME HUNG is the essence of Lord Buddha's teachings and the compassion wisdom of all Buddhas and Budhisattvas manifested as sound.

The recitation of the mantra relieves the suffering of beings in the six realms - gods, demi-gods, humans, animals, hungry ghosts and hells. Each of the syllables also cuts the causes and conditions to be reborn in these six realms. Continuous recitationof, and meditation on the Six Syllables Mantra will empty the six realms.

The Philippine Nedo Kagyu Bodhi Dharma Foundation, Inc. is initiating sn activities of "reciting the heart mantra of Chenresig "The Six Syllables Mantra of the Voice of Compassion" project. We hope that all Buddha followers could take part in this one pointed chanting of the mantra activity. We wish that the sound of the Mantra resound in everyone's lips, the image of Chenrezig adorns every altar or shrine, and the feeling og compassion fill everyone's heart.

We hope that through the aspiration of loving kindness and compassion of Chenresig, all bad karmas associated with these catastrophes could be pacified. May all the souls be liberated. All the merits accumulated are to be dedicated to; all sickness be eradicated; all the deceased be reborn in the Buddha land; all loss of properties and fortune be recovered; all outstanding obstacles be totally purified and peace and prosperity be with everyone on this planet; and most of all to all sentinent beings that everything maybe auspicious.
