Medicine Buddha Mantra:
TEYATHA OM BHEKANZE BHEKANZE MAHA
BHEKANZE RANZA SAMUNG GATE SOHA

Empowerment means transmission of teaching by the Guru.

Medicine Buddha is considered the Buddha of the Eastern Pureland. His color is lapis lazuli blue, the hue of the dark, gold-threaded stone called lapis lazuli.

He made a vow to help those who call upon him when ill or injured and to aid those who revere him to achieve a long and healthy life.

Disease is considered as the imbalance of the five elements that affect the mind and body. It is caused by the obscuration or the mental poisons of hatred, attachment, and delusion. Chanting the mantra of the Medicine Buddha is the prescription for it. It will heal disease and help one bear the burden of the karma. There will be good fortune of freedom from sickness and sufferings.

It is said that even hearing the name of the Medicine Buddha will bring benefits to beings in their subsequent rebirth, that is due to the 12 vows (Sutra of the Master of Healing) he made.

HOMAGE TO THE LORD MASTER OF HEALING

The Lord Master of Healing is also known as the Medicine Buddha who dispels calamities and lengthens life. More and more devotees are reciting his dharani, seeking blessings and compassion from the Medicine Buddha to help dispel their karmic obstacles, to free them from sufferings, illnesses and afflictions, and as a result, lengthening their lives. Hence, the dharani is a mystic formula for dispelling disease and suffering. This healing dharani, fervently recited 7, 49, or 109 times depending on the situation over a glass of plain water, is able to relieve or heal a sick person.

On such an occasion, the above practice should be done daily (or a few times a day if the situation requires) until the sick person recovers. Devotees who wish to uphold this dharani should sincerely attempt to recite it everyday 3 times, 7 times, or according to one’s wisdom.

In commemoration of the 1st historical trip to the Philippines  of H.H.17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje, statues of the Medicine Buddha are available in 8” metal and small size in resin matereials. They are filled with dharma medicine, five kinds of metals (gold, silver copper, iron, aluminum), precious stones, priceless precious substances, and mantra of the Medicine Buddha. These precious substances are lovingly given to us by Lamas and Rinpoches who have kept them for decades from the time they were given to them by their Masters. If you are a sponsor of a puja and as a token of appreciation, are given the Medicine Buddha to be put into your home, office, or other appropriate places, be sure to treat Him with love and respect. An appropriate place means a clean and high place (not on the floor). Each piece is a spiritual power generator because of what it contains
